Delicious Certified Angus Beef ® brand ground beef is topped with sweet peppers, onions, and earthy mushrooms before being topped with Provolone cheese and baked. Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joe Sliders are a combination of family friendly sloppy joes in a fun to eat pull apart slider recipe. This post is sponsored by the Certified Angus Beef ® brand in conjunction with a social media campaign through Sunday Supper LLC. All opinions are my own.
Can you believe that pre-season football has started already? I can’t either. Where has summer gone!? Not that I mind it going away so quickly. Don’t get me wrong! I will not miss it when it finally goes away for the year. I’m a total cold weather person.
I love wearing sweatshirts and sweaters, keeping the windows open at night, and watching FOOTBALL! In our house, we watch both college and pro football. To be honest, I enjoy the college more than the pro. It’s a game with less drama that the pro games. That’s just my opinion.
It’s not going to stop me from watching the games on Sunday as we catch up on weekend chores and tasks. AND it’s not going to stop me from making nibbles for watching the game.
Oh yeah, baby! I LOVE me some game day nibbles!
Who doesn’t right? Chicken wings, nachos, chips, dips, and SLIDERS! All these can feed a few or a large crowd easily. Just downsize or up size the recipe as needed. Feeding friends during game time can’t be simpler.
And for us, the choice is simple with Certified Angus Beef ® brand ground beef for this recipe. I cannot stress enough how amazingly flavorful their beef is. Their beef has to meet 10 quality standards. TEN! They range from marbling to fat thickness to visual appearance.
And let me tell you, their steaks look drool worthy fresh out of the package. When you put one of their quality steaks next to a USDA Prime or other high-quality steak you can see the difference. There’s just no comparison.
Their ground beef is no exception. The flavor and quality matches that of their steaks. Just imagine THE BEST hamburger you’ve ever eaten. Now, think of THE BEST steak you’ve ever eaten. Now, marry those two memories in your mouth and you have Certified Angus Beef ® brand ground beef.
BEST BEEF EVER
I keep saying that because that’s the first thing out of the hubs’ mouth after taking a bite of one of their steaks. Ever since then we’ve been spoiled and cannot truly enjoy any other type of steak. I’m not kidding. There’s no way I could make this up.
We’re truly spoiled. So much so that we will brave 95S, in the middle of summer and vacation traffic, to drive the 41 miles round trip to our local Weis Market. It’s worth it to purchase steak, London broil, and other Certified Angus Beef ® brand products. The last few times we’ve been down there, the traffic has been HORRENDOUS! Seriously. JUST.STOPPED for no reason can see because the back up is that long. That’s dedication for ya!
That’s why we always stock up while we are there because we never want to run out of Certified Angus Beef ® brand products. The last time we were at Weis we bough London broil, which I LOVE to grill, some skirt steak for fajitas, and stew meat for later on this fall. It helps to have a vacuum sealer, too!
It’s a simple recipe that has a flavor packed punch. It’s fun for kids, both big and little. Not to mention, it’s full of cheesy goodness that your family will love. And, as an added bonus, it’s versatile! You can serve it on slider buns, hamburger buns, as tacos, or in lettuce wraps. Or, if you’re like me, you just eat it straight from the pan with a spoon.
These Philly cheese steak sloppy joe sliders boast bold beef flavors from the Certified Angus Beef ® brand ground beef simmered in beef gravy. It’s topped with sweet onions and bell peppers that have been slowly sautéed with some mushrooms. The sliders are sandwiched between slices of creamy Provolone cheese and buttery slider buns.
I’m drooling. Are you drooling?
Well, what are you waiting for! Head to the kitchen and whip up a batch. They’re simple and quick for any night of the week. Or for impromptu friends stopping by to watch the game. Because, well, you DO have the best game watching crib in the neighborhood, right?
That’s what I’m talking about!! You wouldn’t want to make this recipe with mediocre ground beef. So, head you your local Weis Market and pick some up. If you don’t have a Weis, then check out the store locator on their website to see where you can purchase delicious Certified Angus Beef ® brand products. Heck, even my Mom who lives in Maui can find their beef at her grocery.
While you’re there, be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube to see all the delicious recipes shared and to stay up to date on their Facebook Live events. The last one was on hand pies which I cannot wait to cook up! Perfect tailgate food!
Preheat oven to 350. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned. Combine the beef broth with the cornstarch and Worcestershire. Stir into the beef and simmer until thickened. While the beef is simmering, sauté the onions and peppers in a skillet over medium-high heat. When they begin to soften, stir in the mushrooms and continue to cook until they begin to brown. Coat a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray. Cut the rolls or slider buns on half and place the bottoms of the rolls or buns in the pan. Top with 6 slices of Provolone cheese. Spread the beef on top of the cheese. Sprinkle with the peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Top with the remaining cheese slices. Place the tops of the rolls on top of the cheese slices. Combine the melted butter with the steak seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Brush the tops of the rolls with the butter mixture and bake at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and tops are golden brown. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joe Sliders
